The Client / Project
- Client: Greater Glasgow & Clyde NHS Trust
- Project: Westway Medical Record Storage
- Value: £200k
The Brief
Supply, delivery and installation of 688 bays mobile and 1188 bays static shelving systems to replace the existing Longspan System which included the dismantle & recycle of existing shelving items on site.
It was paramount that our bid price on the ITT not only fulfilled the needs of the customer’s requirements fully and accurately, but that it was competitive in the current marketplace and represented value for money for the Trust and the taxpayer.
The Solution
The ITT process included a site visit for initial discussion with client to assess current operating structures and practices to discover their exact storage & usage requirements. Alternative storage methods to offer greater value for money were recommended by us, taking into account staff numbers and picking rates.
A detailed site survey and component audit was subsequently carried out to assess the quantity of shelving for dismantle & removal. This included identification of potential risks associated with the successful delivery of the project at planning stage, and ensure consideration was given in our proposal. Mobile & static shelving system was designed in line with client requirements including the provision of full Autocad drawings for client consideration.
Installation took place under the supervision of our appointed project manager and was in accordance with our Method Statement, Risk Assessment and approved drawings.
Due to budgetary constraints, the project requirement was to be split into two sections. Our layouts and proposals were designed to meet both the available budgets and the client’s capacity requirement for each phase.
